Italian teams have obtained the gold medal in all categories of the relay races that have taken place this Saturday in Soldeu under a radiant sun. Italians have shown they are the best ski Mountaineering team in the World. Lenzi, Reichegger, Holznecht and Brunod outstood the Swiss by a minute, in an explosive race that started with the Swiss in front. France obtained third position and Spain fourth although Kilian Jornet, fourth relay, fell in the first descent. The Andorran team that aimed for a fifth o sixth position has finally obtained the eighth. In the women’s category the Italian team has shown once more to be invincible, and even though Andorrans started in second position thanks to Sophie Dusautoir, finally they have had to conform with eighth position. The podium has been completed by the Swiss and Austrian team. Mireia Miró has achieved fourth position for the Spanish team only one second ahead of France that came in fifth in a spectacular dispute with Laetita Roux. In the youth’s category, podium was for Italy, Switzerland and France.

Un total de 99 de corredors dividits en 29 equips (13 de la categoria sènior masculí, 10 de la sènior femení, i 6 de la categoria júnior) participaran aquest divendres en la última prova dels Campionats del Món d'Esquí de Muntanya, la cursa de relleus que tindrà lloc al Pla dels Espiolets (Soldeu). El recorregut és el més fàcil de totes les proves, amb 180 metres de desnivell i 1,8 quilòmetres. Consta de dues pujades i dues baixades. El primer ascens té una zona tècnica de conversions, i el segon té un tram a peu. Cada rellevista haurà de completar tot el recorregut i fer el relleu en una zona a la part baixa, amb les pells guardades i els esquís lligats a la motxilla, i tocant al company amb la mà, tal com estipula la normativa. S'estima que cada corredor trigarà uns 10 minuts en recórrer el traçat. La sortida dels júniors es farà a les 10 hores, la de la categoria sènior femení a les 11.30 hores, i a les 13 serà el torn dels sèniors masculins.
